The Tour de l'Évêque (Bishops' Tower) is a medieval tower that is part of the former bishop's palace, the current town hall, which dates back to the 13th century.
The tower is built in tuff and was originally part of the palace's defences. The monumental portal is made of finely worked natural stone, decorated with coats of arms of Grasse. It leads to the courtyard (cour) with an atmospheric fountain from 1855 , crowned with an allegorical statue of Grasse (made by Camille Rabuis) and on the left an idyllic garden with a view of the city.
The former council chamber of the diocesan synod is now the council chamber of the municipality. The Chapelle épiscopale, the former chapel on the second floor, is now a wedding hall , with Gothic cross-ribbed vaults and 12th-century architectural fragments.
From the top of the tower you have a panoramic view of the old town and the hills of the Pays de Grasse .
