RALLY VELO SUMMER 2014
Departure : Cambrai
The Scheldt, the king river, arrives in Cambrai, city of Art and History, and becomes a canal. Starting from Cambrai, a true religious metropolis, episcopal seat of the North with its many churches and cathedral you discover the villages and especially the valley of the upper Scheldt. Here is a jewel: the abbey of Vaucelles (XII century). The chapter house, the largest in Europe, is a treasure trove of regional Romanesque architecture. Its garden is classified as a remarkable garden. Arrived in Honnecourt-sur-Escaut, a village located 7 km from the sources of the Scheldt, you will return to Cambrai along the towpath.
