Céreste-en-Luberon - Beaumont-de-Pertuis

This cycle ride takes you over the ridge of Le Grand Luberon and through the Pays d'Aigues, which extends between the Durance valley in the south and Le Luberon in the north. The ride starts off towards Reillanne via narrow and almost traffic-free agricultural roads. From Reillanne it goes via the busy and fairly unpleasant D907 towards the small village of Montfuron on the top of the Luberon ridge. From Montfuron a steep descent on a small road in very bad shape takes you down to the hamlet of L'Orée du Golf (km 47.3) on the D6. The ride follows the D6 until km 42 to turn south on a stretch of road in bad shape for about 1 km. Through a rolling country with fields and vineyards and on a quiet and good quality road it goes towards the very beautiful Beaumont-de-Pertuis, with in its main street, a fine restaurant and bar named Le Bistrot. From Beaumont-de-Pertuis it goes initially uphill but followed by a long descent through forested land to Grambois, a beautiful town located on a ridge on the left bank of the river l'Éze. From Grambois it goes uphill to Vitrolles-en-Luberon through vineyards and fields. Beyond Vitrolles-en-Luberon the final climb of the Col de l'Aire Dei Masco begins. It is a pleasant and very regular climb on a quiet and good road through the beautiful wooded southern flank of Le Grand Luberon. Beyond the col it is some 8km downhill to Céreste-en-Lubèron.
