Hiking - the huchère pond and montiroche

Access: On the bypass of Remiremont, take the exit for Moulin, then head towards Raon-aux-Bois. In Ranfaing, turn right before the old school.
Parking: Park on the left along the path after the paved road.

Distance: 4.1 km / Duration: 1 h 45 / Elevation: 168 m / Marking: green ring.

From the dirt road continuing from Rue de Montiroche, park and head directly towards the pond. Pass the barrier and at the sign, begin to circle the Huchère pond to the right while following the green ring marking.
Cross the small bridge at the end of the pond, move to the halfway point and from there, turn right onto an ascending forest path. Stay on the path, continue to climb until you reach the road.
Once at the top, on the road, turn left. Follow along the parking lot, pass in front of Rond Caillou, and take the marked dirt road to the left.
Continue on this path until you reach an intersection between three paths. Take the middle one that is marked and indicated "Montiroche – Climbing Site" on a wooden sign. Proceed to the next sign found at Montiroche by following the markings. There is an option to go back and forth to the viewpoint (note that the ascent is not easy) and picnic table.
Then, start the descent from the post on the right while still following the green ring marking. The descent begins first on a trail, then becomes a path.
A bit further down the path, there is a left turn for a trail that is not very visible: be sure to spot the markings! Continue on this trail which leads back to the dirt road from the starting point. However, be careful during the descent, as some spots are quite steep and rocky.
