Hiking - the heritage trail

Access: From Remiremont, head to Saint-Amé. In the center of the village (in front of the church), turn left, pass in front of the town hall and go to the stadium.
Parking: Park in the parking lot of the stadium.

Distance: 12.4 km / Duration: 3 h 50 / Elevation: 464m / Markings: blue disc.

Take the path along the parking lot towards the stadium. At the parking spaces for people with reduced mobility, turn left. The first marking is there, we begin to make the tour of the old pond of Miroir au Merle. At the end of the pond, cross the bridge on the left and take the path that goes up into the forest directly in front. Follow the markers that vary between trail and small path until you reach a relay antenna.
Pass in front of the relay antenna to join the marked trail opposite. A little further, leave the trail for a dirt road until the next intersection with the road.
At this intersection, it is possible to go back and forth to the left for the viewpoint of Monroche (climbing site). On site: picnic table. To continue the walk: take the marked path that goes up to the right. Passage in front of a small quarry and a viewpoint. Continue on the path that goes right for about 1 km until arriving at the large quarry, take the time to admire the view. On site: covered picnic table. To return, continue straight on the path.
At the next large intersection with a path, take the left downhill. Then, a little lower at the fork, take the right path that goes up for a little while. On the flat at the top of the slope, at an intersection with other paths where you can see a sign "pilot stele," take the left following the markers until another marking sign. Take left towards the Pont des Fées and Saint-Mont via the monks' path. Be careful, the descent towards the Pont des Fées can be a bit steep in some places.
At the end of the path on the dirt road, take left then immediately right to cross the Pont des Fées. Follow the path that goes up after the Pont des Fées until a crossing, then continue to the left. Higher up at a stump, take a right turn to take a rocky path that joins the car access road leading to Saint-Mont 100m further. Enjoy the site and the 360° view! On site: chapel, ruins, and benches.
To head back, pass under the arch, descend the first steps, then turn left, cross the clearing below Saint-Mont, then descend to the right to follow the excavations that are a little further down.
After the excavations, take left to reach the dirt road, then go down while turning right. Shortly after the barrier, turn left towards the Chapelle du Vieux Saint-Amé. Be careful during the descent which is a bit steep and particularly rocky at times.
Arrived at the Chapelle du Vieux Saint-Amé. On site: 3 picnic tables and benches. To head back, pass in front of the cave then the chapel and take the path on the left that descends between the benches and tables.
At the end of this path, at the intersection with a path, take left. Pass the barrier and join the road. Be careful if you walk on weekdays, the quarry is still in operation, there is a lot of traffic, especially from trucks.
After about 300m, leave the road for a path that goes left deep into the forest. The path quickly becomes a trail on the right. Continue to follow the markers along the houses. Alternating paths, roads, and trails that allow you to reach the stadium parking lot by following the subdivisions.
