The route slaloms past some Provençal villages in the Comtat de Venaissin, but has as figurative and literal highlight the Gorges de la Nesque. The advantage of the Gorges is that with a minimum of effort you get a maximum experience of a spectacular landscape.
The turning point is just before Monieux. We do not return along the busy main road back to Villes-sur-Auzon, but past Saint-Hubert, a hamlet of a few houses on top of the green plateau de Vaucluse. There follows a long and sometimes spectacular descent to Méthamis. And further down to the starting point in Saint-Didier. Shortening is possible by driving from Méthamis to Villes-sur-Auzon. Always quiet roads. Suitable for racing bikes.
