Start at the Sint-Audomaruskerk (V) square in Adinkerke. It can be busy here, as Plopsaland is a little further away. Just like the station (bike rental), terminus of the Ghent-De Penne line. It is best to choose a windless day for this trip to French Flanders, including through the open plain of De Moeren. Keep the church and the square with, among other things, an information panel on the cycling network on the left and turn right towards the bridge over the Veurne-Dunkirk canal. Follow the cycle path towards E40/ A18 Calais-Ostend and choose straight at the top of the roundabout with a sailboat. The bike path stops on the highway. Follow the signs for the Cobergherroute and the Westhoek Noord cycle network until exit 10, continue straight onto Cappoenstraat and pass Moerhof with the chapel winding between the canals. With the towers of Veurne on the left, just follow the signs. On the right, the Saint-Charles mill 1 and a NATO cell tower 2 are visible. On a T, with the wickless SintGustaafsmolen right in front of you, the Cobergherroute points right into this Cromfortstraat. You turn left towards Bulskamp and Veurne, always until exit 10. You approach Bulskamp, with exit 10 on the bridge over the Bergenvaart, which you see in Bergues as Canal de la Basse Colme. Turn right on the bridge until you reach point 12. Just outside Bulskamp, ignore signs 12 and 13 and turn right into Beauvoordestraat until you reach point 25, Beauvoorde and Houtem. Continue towards the 25, first on the right and a little further left in the Karreweg, between fields and farms, until you reach a stone bridge. Continue straight ahead and turn immediately right onto Sikkelstraat, direction Houtem (4 km). This paved road climbs up to exit 25 with a picnic area. At this intersection, turn right, direction point 24, towards Houtem. Continue to follow, take it on the right and on the T after the one on the left, now in the Moeresteenweg. At Houtem, on the T, turn left into the Sacramentstraat, 2 km from the French border and Hondschoote, until you reach point 24. Via the Dorpsstraat, where you leave a square in the direction of the church and café De Welkom and immediately point 24 on the right. The Torre Blanche de Hondschoote Straight into the Westmolenstraat. On the triangle outside the village you do not turn towards Hondschoote, but take the narrower Molenwalstraat straight ahead and a little further left the narrow Heidenstraat, towards point 40. Past a bus stop and a bench (with the transmission tower almost on the border with Les Moëres), turn left towards 40 into the Doornstraat. You follow the Driekoningenstraat straight, as well as the Cobergherfietsroute and a little further along a bilingual sign of the Blauwers- en Commiezenroute. In some farms on the other side of the border and the Hoofdgracht. The high bell tower of the church of Hondschoote (the White Tower in the vernacular) becomes clearer and clearer. At the next crossroads, take Coppens Street on the left, after Noordmeulen 3 to the center of Hondschoote, with its photogenic village square with the church, town hall and kiosk. Continue for a long time on the road to Coberger: on the D55 or rue de la Libération, direction Bergues and motorway. After the traffic lights, turn right into the Chemin des Anguilles, through the fields to a T. Just this main road turn right, then right into the narrow Drève des Foins. From one T to another, from the Chemin des Moëres on a wider road. On the right, until you reach the Cobergherroute about 500 m further in a triangle on the right. From there you take the narrow Smeerstraete straight, with the Blauwers and Commiezen road. Follow the signs, briefly into Haeghe Meulenstraat, then right into Warhem territory. 100 m further, the Smeerstraete continues straight ahead and you follow the Steenweg on the left. Always straight, towards the bell tower of Warhem, further down the rue de l'Est, past a holiday park. The Flemish charm of Bergues In Warhem, you turn right at the church, then immediately left. Always follow past the cemetery to a larger crossroads. You leave the Way of the Cross and cross the rue de Warhem. This is the territory of Hoymille, the suburb of Bergues. An SME zone brings you to a crossroads. Turn right, through a 30 zone with new buildings, to a busier road along a canal. Cross carefully and follow this Canal de la Basse Colme on the left. About 500 m further, you enter the Bergues fortified by the Porte d'Hondschoote, next to a campsite. Enjoy the Vauban 4 site on the right and the view of the canals in 'the other Bruges in Flanders'. Follow the D3 to the city centre, cross a shopping street to Place de la République. At the bottom in the belfry, whose tower you can climb, you will find the tourist office (and toilets) and further on the market the town hall, shops and restaurants. Take your time to explore this charming city. And then leave the city by the same road, towards Téteghem. After Hoymille, turn left on the bridge over the canal, on the Route des Neiges. Follow this wider road for about 2 km, until you can take an oblique to the left, then straight a narrower branch between deep channels. Behind these immense plains hides the industry of Dunkirk on the left. From this Chemin des Neiges, you arrive at a crossroads in some businesses. Turn right onto the bike path, direction Uxem and continue to follow. By the D2 or the Route d'Uxem, you find yourself, among other things, by the Canal des Moëres, in the village itself. Then direction Ghyvelde, to a light blue water tower and right on the D79 or Rue Albert Poidevin, to Moëres and Rexpoëde. Above the Canal des Chats, with a cat façade on the right. On the T of the residential mill Le Rhin, do not turn right, but stay left of it: the Coberg cycle route in the opposite direction. Straight through De Moeren Soon you will experience Moeren for miles. Take the first side street on the right then on a T of the Chemin de Polder on the left towards Les Moëres. Past the village with again low houses do not bend to the left, but diagonally straight into the rue Saint Antoine. Past a bunker at the crossroads, turn left, while the Chemin des Limites goes right to the transmission tower. On a dangerous junction on the right. Past the Hameau de la Distillerie and a campsite, you cross the schreve by bike, at the café / petrol station De Noordster. Just continue following this Noordmoerstraat (no sign) straight through De Moeren, until you reach a T with a wider concrete road. On the left you can also see the towers of Plopsaland 5. Cross and turn left towards Adinkerke (5 km), with the Sint-Karelsmolen on the right. The W. Cobergherstraat becomes the Moeresteenweg, which takes you on the A18 to the Veurne-Dunkirk canal in Adinkerke. Then turn right, cross the pedestrian bridge and cross the Dorpsstraat to the church.
