Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat - Malaucène

This route takes you from Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat to Malaucène.

The first part follows the Véloroute Via Venaissia (where you have an "entrance" at the Mas).

Through smaller roads to Beaumes de Venise and then via Lafare and Suzette to Malaucène. Don't underestimate this: you will have nearly 600 meters of elevation gain before you start the climb of Ventoux.

You may consider the following alternatives:

1. In Lafare, take a right towards La Roque-Alric (the climb is not to be underestimated!) and go to Le Barroux. Then continue on the D938 to Malaucène. Disadvantage: traffic can be quite busy on the D938.

2. In Suzette, turn right. You then have a nice descent and climb towards Le Barroux via La Pinière. Just before le Barroux, turn left to reach the D938 via the Abbaye Notre Dame de l'Annociation du Barroux, quite close to Malaucène. The disadvantage of this option is that the roads near the Abbaye are very narrow and in rather poor condition.

3. You can combine options 1 and 2 by first taking 1 but turning left just before Le Barroux and from there choosing option 2.

4. You can combine options 1 and 2 by first taking 2 and then continuing to Le Barroux to drive from there via the D938 to Malaucène.
