The Mull Museum began in the seventies of the twentieth century as a small and temporary summer exhibition. In 1986, the museum moved into the main street location in Tobermory. The building, a former bakery, was restored and the ovens were included in the permanent exhibition. The museum is run by volunteers.
The Mull Museum recounts the history of the Isle of Mull. Attention is paid to the lifestyles of the people in the Bronze Age and Iron Age and the archaeological finds of that time, the duns and brochs. In addition, attention is paid to the Viking Age, the Middle Ages, the castles and the clans. The life of the people from Mull from the later centuries is also highlighted, among other things with the everyday attributes of those times.
