Nice 17 miler with a variety of countryside/farms. Flat as a pancake. Mostly quiet roads (but crosses A1079 twice). Several pubs en-route (Elvington, Sutton, Newton).
Can be exposed to the wind on the north part, but not too bad.
A shortcut to miss about 2-3 miles off: when you get to to Hull Road, instead of crossing straight over, turn left for half a mile or so, then left at the pub onto Carr Lane to rejoin the route at Newton.
