I did this route by mistake, when I failed to unfold a paper map properly. Really a bit long now I am older and work spending a couple of days on. Could be split at Inchnamdamph or Lochinver. Breakdown Road is ferocious, but the ride over from Lochinver, and along the it, is magnificent. Easily missed out by keeping north at Skiag Bridge junction, if you do not like the look of the rash of very steep gradients. It is strenuous, strenuous, strenuous. Apart from that, there are lots of ascents, but the scenery is fabulous. Refreshments and shops along the way, with surprising regularity.
