Next to Monasteraki square, you will recognize a Turkish mosque. It is one of the few mosques that has been preserved from the time of Turkish occupation. The Turks had converted many Byzanthine churches into mosques. The opppsotie happened when the Turks had to leave.
This building is now a Museum of Folklore and is owned by the Ministry of Culture.
