Gialova started to boom from 2008 onwards as the place to be for tourists (especially in the evening). It became an up-market place. Peculiar if you think that in the previous century there were plans to make this an industrial center for oil refineries. It has some great perks. Most of the restaurants offer you to sit literally on the beach. I recommend you to get there before 20:00 so you can enjoy the great sunset over the island Sphacteria and the bay of Navarino in front of you.
