Gialova begon te "boomen" als een toeristische plek vanaf 2008. Het werd de "place to be" voor toeristen die iets meer smaak hebben voor een up-market place. Eigenaardig als je denkt dat in de vorige eeuw nog plannen waren om dit een industrieel centrum voor olieraffinaderijen te maken. Gialova heeft een aantal grote pluspunten. De meeste restaurants bieden u letterlijk een zitje op het strand. Ik adviseer u om reeds voor 20:00 uur te gaan, zodat u kunt genieten van de geweldige zonsondergang over het eiland Sphacteria en de baai van Navarino.
