Difficulty: Easy-moderate Time: 1 hour or 3 hours Distance: 3.5km or 12km

Start/finish at Diamond Rocks car park, a five-minute drive west of Kilkee town. This is a stunning cliff walk in a less-visited part of Co Clare that boasts scenic bays and impressive sea stacks such as The Candle Stick. When the tide is out, you’ll also see the natural sea pools of Pollock Holes. Choose between a short (as far as Dunlicky Road) or longer (to a car park at Moveen West/Creeragh) out-and-back options. Afters: The food (and drink) are mouthwatering at Stella Maris. Plump for Kilkee lobsters, Farrihy beef or Kilfenora lamb. Wash it off with some fine wine or a creamy pint of the black stuff; stellamarishotel.com
