Kilkee is a charming seaside town renowned for its cliff-fringed coastline and summer café culture. There’s a choice of four walks, all of which are centred around the coastal landscape.

The most popular option is easy and short, following a paved coastal path for 1.8km. Start at Diamond Rocks car park, on the western edge of Kilkee. The rocky low-tide reef that protrudes into the sea here is pockmarked with several large pools, known as the Pollock Holes. It’s a popular spot with families during summer months, and a perfect place for a quick dip at the end of your exertions.

The path continues west around the shoreline, as far as Dunlicky Road. Either return to Kilkee along the road to make a circuit, or retrace your steps back along the path to enjoy the coastline again from the reverse direction.
