The Colonna Barberini Palace is a building located in Palestrina, in the province of Rome. Owned by the Italian state, it is the seat of the Archaeological Museum.
The origins of the Colonna Barberini Palace date back to the 9th century. It was built on the site of the sanctuary of Fortuna Primigenia, from Roman times, then demolished and rebuilt in the 15th century. Its name comes from the local lords who owned it, the Colonna, who constructed the town and the palace, and the Barberini, who purchased the property in the 17th century and retained it until the end of World War II, during which the palace was heavily damaged.
