Capo Boeo or Capo Lilibeo is the extreme western tip of the island of Sicily.
An archaeological zone has been set up here. From Roman times there are remains of the ancient city of Lilybaeum , and the Museo Archeologico is located a little further away.
An obelisk commemorates the landing in 1860 of Giuseppe Garibaldi with his 1000 red shirts in Marsala. He then conquered all of Sicily, marking the beginning of the unification of Italy.
There is also a memorial plaque for the victims of the June 27, 1980 massacre in Marsala.
