Health Park "Livia Morello" - Palermo

The health park "Livia Morello" in Palermo is the first inclusive park in southern Italy and was created as a socially useful project promoted by the association Vivi Sano Onlus.

Located on the Foro Italico, a stone's throw from the sea and Porta Felice , the Parco della Salute was born on the ashes of part of the abandoned urban coast and skillfully redeveloped to make room for an environment dedicated to sports and outdoor activities for adults and children, healthy and disabled children, the elderly and people who have a particularly vulnerable condition due to an illness.

This total opening, in the name of social inclusion and the strengthening of a multi-ethnic society, is dedicated to Livia Morello, an 8-year-old girl who died of a rare heart disease.

The park has areas for games and sports, a multi-purpose field and a path dedicated to environmental education in "The Garden of the Mediterranean Halophytes", a unique botanical garden that reproduces a Mediterranean scrub. It also organizes initiatives, free initial listening desks and consultations and screenings with experts.
