Murale Spasimo - Pangrei - Palermo

Street art by Camilla Falsini and Rosk&Loste and Mbre Fats. The wall paintings are united by a specific theme: hospitality . Rosk and Loste painted an urban saint, a woman of color. Mbre Fats created characters from the painting The Triumph of Death in Palazzo Abatellis and Camilla devoted herself as a child to a work dedicated to Frederick II.

The project, called "Pangrel" , in addition to the four site-specific works, also includes an exhibition at Palazzo dei Normanni with a selection of sketches, paintings and photographs by the artists involved.

Pangrel 2018 is the first edition of a public art experiment created by the Federico II Foundation.

The title of the project is Pangrel, Mixed Race Art in Palermo. Mongrel and Pa : acronym for an art that expresses a value and meaning for the Federico II Foundation that becomes a social experience of beauty, culture and urban redevelopment. An experiment in contemporary art that radiates power and is palpable on the street; in a context loudly characterized by the coexistence of old beauties and the risk of ever-increasing degradation.

The Kalsa or as the Arabs called it al-halisah, the chosen one, the pure, has been transformed into an open-air art gallery. A result made possible thanks to the synergy between the different institutions promoting the event. But especially thanks to the five nationally renowned artists such as Basik, Camilla Falsini, Mbre Fats, Rosk E Loste .

Five artists for four redevelopment interventions on the facades of three social housing buildings and on a wall a few meters from Piazza Ventimiglia in the heart of the Kalsa district. Directly opposite the Oratorio dei Bianchi , next to the Spasimo , near the Church of the Magione , where until a week ago a wall of 28 by 15 meters and three floorless elevations could be seen side by side. Today, every citizen becomes a user and interpreter of 4 works that vibrate with beauty, history, art and hospitality.
