The Church of San Giovanni dell'Origlione was built in the 17th century as the church of the neighboring Benedictine monastery, for which a footbridge was created over the neighboring buildings.
After centuries of neglect and the terrible damage caused by the Second World War, it has recently been rediscovered, along with the precious treasures it houses within.
These include the beautiful 18th-century painting of Saint Benedict pulling down idols, painted by Gaspare Serenario, and a piece of the original frescoes attributed to Pietro Novelli.
