Cross-border steel circuit

Between forests and fields, rural and urban areas, viewpoints and tunnels hidden by vegetation, the transboundary Steel circuit will let you discover Alzette Belval like you have never seen it before!

The 22 km loop (11 in each country) will take you through the steel cycle. The route can be traveled in both directions, but it is recommended to start from Micheville (Audun-le-Tiche, France), an old steel production site that is currently being redeveloped. You will then reach the Ellegronn, a nature reserve that was formerly an open-pit mine, before arriving at the Esch-sur-Alzette train station for a more urban part leading to Belval. The circuit ends with a crossing of the sensitive natural area of Micheville with its wild orchids and exceptional viewpoints over Belval.

Part of the circuit is shared with the Minett Trail, and it is possible to switch from one to the other at the Belval park, the Esch-sur-Alzette train station, and the Ellergronn.
