The Casteelse Poort is a small museum in the Gelderland city of Wageningen. The museum offers both permanent and temporary exhibitions about the history of Wageningen, but also exhibitions of modern art in the so-called Coach House.The museum is housed in the Villa Vada building, which was built in the nineteenth century using remnants of the gatehouse of the sixteenth-century Castle of Wageningen. On the forecourt of the museum there is a cellar with a cross vault. This cellar was built in 1525, was part of the castle and has the status of a national monument. Building and land are owned by the municipality Wageningen.De Casteelse Poort is run entirely by volunteers. The income consists of entrance fees, donations and a subsidy from the municipality. The Association of Friends of the Wageningen Museum supports the museum in the purchase of special objects and in the implementation of special projects.
