Posbank

The Posbank is, contrary to what many people think, not the name of the hill; that is actually the Veluwezoom. The Posbank is nothing more than a stone bench named after Mr. Pos, who in the early twentieth century was the chairman of ANWB and a major promoter of this beautiful piece of the Netherlands. The climb was previously called the Potjesberg.

The climb of the Posbank shows like no other how beautiful the Netherlands can be. First, you drive through rolling grassy slopes and forest to end in the beautiful purple heather fields.

The climb starts gently with gradients around 3%. After a slight descent, the real work begins. After a section of 5%, the climb levels off for a bit before finishing steeply for the last 400 meters. There are only a few people who can burst through the last steep 50 meters at great speed.
