Fort on the Drecht

In the completely restored Fort aan de Drecht from 2000, you can find the Pancake Restaurant, Magenta Projects, wine society Vinocerf, event agency Drechtfort, and advertising studio Rijk. Feel free to come take a look!

The Pancake Fort is open from Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The wine society Vinocerf is open every Saturday afternoon from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. For visits to the other organizations, it is advisable to make an appointment in advance.

History
The Fort aan de Drecht dates back to 1911. The Fort aan de Drecht served to defend the accesses formed by the Drecht and Kromme Mijdrecht with the dikes running alongside. The fort also provided protection for two nearby, but now vanished, locks. The still present curved armor plate made of nickel cast steel is twenty centimeters thick and weighs 23,000 kilograms.

Parking is available in the parking lot opposite the fort. If this is full, you can park at rowing club Michiel de Ruyter (Amsteldijk Zuid); you can reach the fort via the gravel path.
