Schagen ), in West Frisian Skagen, is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. Within it it is located in the West-Friesland region. The city has an area of 19.32 km². The municipality has 46,834 inhabitants and the city itself has 19,025 inhabitants. The municipality is located in the northwest of West Friesland, the largest part is still just inside the West Frisian Omringdijk, the area of the former municipality of Zijpe is outside it. The inhabitants of Schagen are traditionally called "Schagenezen".
