Park of Groeneveld Castle

The estate was built in 1703 on a narrow, elongated plot of 130 hectares that had arisen during the agricultural exploitation of the area. The park is only 300 meters wide but has a length of up to three kilometers. In a formal French landscaping, long lines and geometric shapes were central. The area was therefore intersected lengthwise by a driveway and a long face. There were gardens on either side of it. The Groeneveld house was centrally located on the central axis. The driveway led to the other side of the current Amsterdamsestraatweg where a star forest had been laid out. The Ravesteinsebos near the Ravenstein farm also had a driveway as its main axis. Along the Jagershuis runs a cross avenue planted with oak, which connects the two driveways. To the left of the house was the vegetable garden.
