The Dutch Water Museum in Arnhem is the museum that focuses on information about all aspects of water, such as water management, drinking water, and water purification. The museum was opened in 2004.
In 1998, the idea for an information center for the Rijn and IJssel water authority originated with dike reeve H. van Brink in the former Bagijnemolen in the monumental Sonsbeek park in Arnhem. The old watermill from the 16th and 17th centuries is located at the Sint-Jansbeek, the place where Arnhem originated. With the help of others, the idea quickly grew into the Dutch Water Museum.
