Fort at the Buursteeg

In the northern part of Fort aan de Buursteeg is the Grebbelinie visitor center, which tells the story of the special history of the Grebbelinie. Here you will also find Restaurant Grebbelounge, where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, lunch, or dinner in the middle of nature. From the fort, there are various cycling, walking, and canoe routes to discover the traces in the landscape.

Fort aan de Buursteeg is one of the largest and most important defensive works of the Grebbelinie. It was established in 1786 at the location where the Buursteeg and Slaperdijk crossed. Due to the size of the fort, several hundred soldiers could be stationed within the fortress walls.
