Town Hall of Diepenheim

The town hall of Diepenheim is a monumental building at Grotestraat 19 in the town of Diepenheim in the province of Overijssel, which served as the administrative centre of the former municipality of Diepenheim.
The eclectic building was designed by Jan Coenraad Meijer from Goor. The tender took place in December 1880. In 1881 the town hall was built. The building has a symmetrical façade designed in a neoclassical style. The entrance is located in the middle ressault. Above the entrance, the coat of arms of the former municipality is arranged in a round frame. Above it - also in a round frame - is a clock. The risalite is crowned with a roof turret with wind vane. There are two bells in the turret. One clock was made by Gerrit Schimmel in 1619. The other bell dates from the 17th or 18th century. In the front façade and side walls, striking elements are the round-arched windows. Under the eaves are two friezes with arches, triglyphs and metopes as decorative elements. With the exception of the grey plinth, the building has a white layer of plaster.
