A statue of Queen Wilhelmina stands on the promenade of the Dutch seaside resort Noordwijk aan Zee. The bronze statue was made by the sculptor Kees Verkade and stands on a stone pedestal placed in a basin. The statue was donated to the municipality of Noordwijk in 2000 by the celebratory Hotels van Oranje. The monument was unveiled in May of that year by Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema, formerly the adjutant of the queen, who was assisted by Jos Mulder-Gemmeke, also a bearer of the Military William Order like Hazelhoff.
