Steurgat is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located on the Nieuwe-Merwede to the west of Werkendam. In Steurgat it is located the Fort Steurgat of the same name. The hamlet of Steurgat is located in the so-called Noordwaard of the Brabantse Biesbosch and is named after the waterway Steurgat, which branches off from the Nieuwe-Merwede to the east of the hamlet. The hamlet is home to the Biesbosch lock and the only fixed river connection to the Noordwaard.
