Mescherplukbos, Uit de Patiel, Mesch
Cycling through 'Uit de Patiel' we see on the right the Mescherplukbos of the Limburgs Landschap with walnut trees and berry bushes. The verge behind the parking lot of the A2 was very flowery and received a 9 with species such as daisy and pink day cuckoo flower. Here the wasp spider was seen, a southern species, which has been conquering the Netherlands for 20 years due to global warming. There are several badger burrows in the area and they cross the A2 on their way to food. In 2007, badger grids were installed to prevent this crossing.
A little further we cycle through a beautiful hollow road with arum in the spring, which has red berries in the autumn. The vegetation here gets an 8 visually, but also because of the diversity of the plants. One of the slopes contains the characteristic lime-loving plants such as marjoram and agrimony, both protected plants. Switches, paths walked by animals such as badger and fox, are clearly visible here.
