The Molenstraat monument in Ossendrecht is a French cannon from 1917.
The text on the monument reads:
'FRENCH CANNON FROM 1917, 155 C MLE SCHNEIDER.
USED BY GERMANS IN OSSENDRECHT.
RETIRED ON 6-10-1944.
OVERHAULED BY STAFF IN 1992
OF THE KON. WILHELMINA BARRACKS.'
The monument symbolizes the Second World War.
Used by the Germans in Ossendrecht.
Out of action on 6 October 1944 in which a young German conscript soldier was killed.
