Pancake House Ugchelen

Our atmospheric restaurant is situated in a wooded environment in the middle of the Veluwe, where various walking and cycling routes are possible. A visit to the Ugchelse Boswachterij, the Koppelsprengen, or the sheep herd on the Hoogbuurlose heath is also recommended.

All our pancakes are made in an artisanal way according to an old family recipe. The batter is freshly whipped every morning, after which the pancakes can be carefully cooked in large frying pans according to the secrets of the craft.

Our menu is very extensive with a selection of more than 180 different pancakes. Would you like a simple pancake or perhaps a flambéed pancake? Everything is possible with us, as there are many different types to choose from, sweet, savory, or even vegetarian.
For our little guests, there are children’s pancakes and special children’s arrangements for example for birthday parties. We have a play area with various play equipment, so the children will not be bored! For those who prefer to enjoy their pancake at home, we have take-away pancakes with free syrup and sugar in a special take-away warming packaging. 't Pannekoekhuis Ugchelen is nationally recognized. We also have a charging station for your electric bike.

The history of 't Pannekoekhuis Ugchelen goes back to 1972. After various worldly wanderings, we ended up in the Netherlands. The Oldenburg family is a quintessential Dutch family with a very old baking tradition specializing in pancakes. The recipe we use is also a very old family recipe that dates back a long time and has been carefully handed down from father to son and is still being followed. The family recipe is indeed a family secret that we are very proud of. In 1972, the first pancake house of the Oldenburg family was established. In the following years, more Oldenburg pancake houses were added in the Netherlands, spread across the provinces, and now there are several.

't Pannekoekhuis Ugchelen was established in 1987 after a 7-week renovation of a former supermarket located in this characteristic building. It was and still is a welcome addition to the picturesque village of Ugchelen, which is located near Apeldoorn.

The pancake house in Ugchelen has now been around for several decades. We are open summer and winter, and we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (except for holidays). Due to its cozy location and the beautiful large terrace where you can enjoy a delicious pancake in peace, in winter you can just sit comfortably by the fireplace. For many, we are the starting or ending point of various walking and/or cycling routes. Parking is certainly not a problem with us, as we have our own large parking lot.
