In the courtyard of the town hall, a work of art has been laid out in the form of a paint basin (Färberbecken'). This waterwork is a unique element and symbolizes the dyeing of Von Clermont. By means of a special construction, it looks as if the cloths are washed, using the colors that were also used in the dyeing mill in the past.
Red was the color for precious fabrics. A walkway made of concrete stone has been laid out in the courtyard, the paint basin itself is surrounded by natural stone. The large chestnut tree in the courtyard has of course remained as an iconic element. On the Julianaplein there is also a fountain field with 44 sprinklers which are lit up in the evening by the most beautiful colors.
