Crown Domain Het Loo is a royal estate of 10,500 hectares. Originally, the core consisted of the castle Het Oude Loo and the impressive seventeenth-century Palace Het Loo. Both are surrounded by the Palace Park which contains valuable cultural-historical elements.

Crown Domain Het Loo is the largest contiguous estate in the Netherlands and is characterized by a rich cultural history, great biological diversity, and much landscape beauty. The area exudes tranquility, beauty, and harmony in an expansive and large-scale landscape.

The Royal Forestry is an extensive forest and heath area characterized by natural beauty, silence, and peace. Due to the absence of buildings and facilities, it is a spacious area that looks very original.

The main purpose of the Royal Forestry in the past was hunting and forestry. Traditionally, the area is known for its game. Here you have the opportunity to observe red deer, roe deer, or wild boars in an almost natural environment.

The Royal Forestry is located in the middle of the Veluwe, between Apeldoorn, Vaassen, and Uddel and covers an area of approximately twelve by sixteen kilometers. The total area is nearly 9,700 hectares and consists of 7,900 hectares of forests, 1,550 hectares of heathlands, and 250 hectares of agricultural land. The Royal Forestry consists of three forest ranger districts, Gortel, Uddel, and Hoog Soeren.
