De Wieger, or Huize Wiegersma, is a former residence for doctors and artists in the village of Deurne, North Brabant, and has been used as a municipal museum since the 1970s. De Wieger was built in 1922 according to a design by architect Cor Roffelsen in neo-Renaissance style. The design was based on the house De Romein, which had been designed by the same architect nine years earlier. The client was the doctor Hendrik Wiegersma, who moved to Deurne as a newly graduated doctor in 1917. It was built along the then connecting road between the center of Deurne and the church village of Liessel, amidst the fields. The forest that Wiegersma personally planted around De Wieger later became central in the song Het dorp by Wim Sonneveld. This song was written by Friso Wiegersma, Sonneveld's partner and the fourth son of Hendrik Wiegersma. Friso was born in De Wieger. And along the garden path of my father, I saw the tall trees standing refers to the trees surrounding De Wieger.
