Molen De Hoop

The so-called "Of Hope" mill is the youngest of the two remaining in the city. It originates from 1788, which at that time was built in wood and its function was wind, since it was responsible for fertilizing the bark. In 1850 it was replaced by a stone copy but 24 years later it burned down and was rebuilt with brick.
The mill's masts fly over the houses in order to catch the air; The view it provides can be seen from many points of the city and gives you a historical image of the city. The mill had eight different owners but as it did not contribute much profit it was acquired by the municipality. It was restored in 1982 and since then has worked again used to make special flours used in the area ovens. Today you can go inside to visit it.
