Amstelpark

The regular visitor has known for 45 years that this park is a hidden gem in the Zuid district. The park was developed for the largest international horticultural exhibition ever held in the world: The Floriade Amsterdam 1972.

Although some adjustments have been made, the park remains versatile with beautifully landscaped gardens, the rhododendron valley, the Rosarium, and the Orangerie. In addition to the beautiful nature of Amstelpark, where IVN Amsterdam offers great guided tours, culture and photography lovers can also find plenty to enjoy here. In the center of the park are The Glass House and the Orangerie, where wonderful exhibitions are held.

But what the park is really known for is, of course, the opportunity to turn it into a complete day out! There are various recreational options such as MidgetGolf Amstelpark, the Amsteltrein, the city farm De Amsteldieren, and the large playground Het Bastion. And of course, there is no shortage of various dining options. From fries at the snackbar Het Bastion, an artisanal scoop of ice cream at De IJstuin, to sitting back and enjoying at one of the four beautiful terraces that Amstelpark has to offer. Food lovers can also visit the park every month for the Pure Market, an organic and artisanal market. There's something for everyone!
