The Reformed Church is a former church building in the town of Sas van Gent, located on Oostkade 14.In 1648, a reformed church building was built on this site, in the form of a cruciform church in classical style, with an octagonal domed turret on the crossing. This church was inaugurated in 1658. In 1747, the church was hit during the siege of the town by the French. The church burned down and was rebuilt from 1750 to 1752 by David van Stolk; he was given a floor plan in the shape of a Greek cross. The design was strongly reminiscent of that of the Oosterkerk in Amsterdam, designed by Adriaan Dortsman. In 1896 this building was again destroyed by fire. Nothing could be saved from the inventory because of the liquid lead that fell down. In 1898 a new church was completed on the same site. It initially had a wooden tower, but in 1907 it was replaced by a stone tower.
