The Yerseke Moer is a peat meadow area in the Dutch province of Zeeland on Zuid-Beveland, between Yerseke, Wemeldinge, and Kapelle. The area of 484 hectares, east of the Canal through Zuid-Beveland, is owned by the Stichting Het Zeeuwse Landschap.
It is a former salt marsh complex, which was enclosed by a ring dike from the sea about 1000 years ago. It consists of meadows with elevation differences. However, the original structure of the salt marsh complex is still recognizable.
The meadows are situated on sandy creek ridges and lower basin soil. On top lies a thin layer of clay resting on a thick peat layer.
The larger creeks were transformed into broad creek ridges before the diking, together with the adjacent riverbanks. Often, roads have been constructed on these large creek ridges and in the former riverbeds. The adjacent high riverbanks have often been used as agricultural fields.
In the low-lying basins, only pasture land was possible, mainly due to the presence of a saline peat layer in the subsoil.
