Pijnenburg Estate

The Estate Pijnenburg is located on the border of the provinces of Utrecht and North Holland at the foothills of the Utrecht Ridge. This beautiful estate covers 340 hectares, consisting of forests and avenues interspersed with meadows. The estate is largely situated in the municipality of Baarn near the village of Lage Vuursche.
It lies mostly in the Laagte van Pijnenburg, a lower-lying area formed by the uplifted ice from the ice ages. The Laagte van Pijnenburg forms the wet connection between the Eem and the Vecht and attracts, as a wet and lower-lying terrain, the associated plant and animal species including many species of dragonflies.
Another higher-lying area on the estate, the Hooge Erf, is located precisely at 21 m NAP and is an outcrop of the terminal moraine.
At the corner of Hilversumsche Straatweg and Hoge Vuurseweg stands a Tourist Transfer Point (TOP) column. On the Hoge Vuurseweg is the tearoom 't Hooge Erf.
