Low Fire Ridge

Lage Vuursche is located in a forested area on the Utrecht Ridge. Lage Vuursche has a protected village view with several eighteenth and nineteenth-century houses. The Reformed church (De Stulpkerk) dates from 1650.

In the vicinity, there are several estates, including Kasteel Drakestein (in the immediate vicinity of the village), Paleis Soestdijk, the Pijnenburg estate, the Ewijckshoeve, and Kasteel de Hooge Vuursche.

The forests around Lage Vuursche are partially owned by the State Forestry Service and are part of the De Vuursche forest ranger's area. The Utrecht Landscape also manages various areas, such as the Maartensdijkse forest, the Ridderoordsche Bosschen, and the Willem Arntsz forest. The protected village view of Lage Vuursche attracts many day tourists. Tourists come not only for the village but also for the surrounding area, including the heathland De Stulp, the vast forests, and the palace, castles, and estates. In addition, the restaurants attract a lot of interest. Pancakes, in particular, are very popular in Lage Vuursche. The village and its surroundings are so popular that it can happen that - on nice weekends - there are traffic jams at the edge of the village and in the middle of the forest.
