Opperdoes is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Medemblik, and lies about 12 km north of Hoorn. It has a certain fame for its local variety of potatoes, "Opperdoezer Ronde".The village was first mentioned in the late 11th century as Those, and means "bog with moss". Opper could have been added to distinguish from Nederdoes, a village lost in the Zuiderzee.
