Nordic Village

Before 1208, the ecclesiastical events in this area took place in the Miland church, which stood in the current hamlet of Achttienhoven. This church is destroyed in the campaign of the bishop of Utrecht, Dirk van Are, against the count of Holland. The new church is being built in the 'Noorderbuurt' (given the wording below, this apparently refers to the current Nordic Village). However, it was not an independent church, had no parish rights and therefore belonged to the church of Nieuwkoop.

Until the Reformation, the inhabitants of North churches in the church on the Nordic Village. During the reforms in 1581, all the assets of the church were confiscated by the States of Holland. The church building is assigned to the Reformed congregation.
