Landgoed De Slotplaats Bakkeveen

In 1997, the Slotplaats Estate was purchased by Natuurmonumenten, with the help of a recruitment campaign among members. It concerns more than two hundred hectares of forest, old trees and avenues and the former estate house. This was previously used as a fairly exclusive restaurant, since 1999 it has been a tea house in the usual style of Natuurmonumenten. Natuurmonumenten has carried out two restoration projects here. In October 2005 the renovation of the Teahouse started, which has now been completed. At the beginning of January 2006, a start was made on restoring the garden, which contains a number of valuable cultural-historical elements and has therefore been designated as a national monument. A place to relax on the terrace or cozy up by the fireplace in winter. The stately building is located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Bakkeveen and has an interesting history. Stop by after a brisk walk around the estate, which is adjacent to the building. You can come to us for delicious sweets from our own kitchen or a hearty lunch that is freshly prepared every day. On reservation you are also welcome for an Afternoon or High Tea, parties or meeting location.
