Round Hilversum

Hilversum Circular Route
The Hilversum Circular Route is a varied bike tour of just over 35 km, taking you through forests and heathlands, sports fields, waterways, eco-bridges, and country estates.
The route mainly runs along separate bike paths (mostly gravel paths). The trail has varying elevation differences, rising up to 25 meters above sea level at Holleweg.

The route is described starting from Hilversum Station (bike rental), but you can also start the route at another point. The following entry points are located along the route and have free parking options:
1. Hilversum Station
2. Sportpark Loosdrecht (’t Jagerspaadje in Loosdrecht)
3. Restaurant Robert (Spanderslaan 1, 1217 DB Hilversum)
4. Restaurant La Place (Westerheide 2, 1251 ET Laren)
5. Tea House ’t Bluk (Zuiderheide 2, 1251 SE Laren)
6. Restaurant Groot Kievitsdal (Hilversumsestraatweg 19, 3744 KB Baarn).

1. Route description from Hilversum Station
Leave Hilversum Station from the city side (to the right of the bike parking facility, out of the tunnel). Cross the street in front of the station square (Schapenkamp) and turn left onto the bike path, going straight at the traffic lights (Schapenkamp), at the roundabout (Sint Vitus Church on the left) turn left into Emmastraat. Follow this street and turn right at the traffic lights towards Loosdrecht (Utrechtseweg). At the roundabout, turn right (Gijsbrecht van Amstelstraat) and immediately afterwards take the first left (Diependaalse Drift). At the intersection with Pieter de Hooghlaan, turn left and cross Diependaalselaan straight ahead (Holleweg). Continue straight past the "Dead End" sign and go a bit further onto the bike path between red-and-white posts. Follow this bike path for some time (ascending and descending), crossing several intersections. At the T-junction with a view of the heath by Pilz P20653, turn right towards Loosdrecht.

From Pilz P20653 towards Loosdrecht. Follow the bike path (about 2 km, at P20142, P20837, P20730) until P22560/22561. There, cross the Van Ghentlaan and take the left bike path towards Loosdrecht. At the roundabout, turn right (Raaweg). After 150 meters, turn left (’t Jagerspaadje) past Sportpark Loosdrecht. After the water on the left-hand side, turn right into the parking lot and continue on the bike path (in the far right corner of the parking lot).

2. Route description from Sportpark Loosdrecht
Enter the bike path from the back parking lot (in the far right corner of the parking lot).

Cross the asphalt road (Raaweg) and enter the residential area. After 100 m, cross the street (Kerkelandenlaan) and turn left onto the bike path. After the curve, turn left (Ludgeruslaan) and right onto the bike path towards ’s Graveland. At the end of the bike path, turn left towards ’s-Graveland. At the traffic lights, turn right over the bridge over the Hilversum Canal (Zuidereinde) and continue on the bike path. Follow the bike path to the right in front of the buildings. At the end of the bike path, in front of the water (Gooise Vaart), turn right (Kininelaantje). At the first small bridge, go left over the water and immediately to the right along the water towards Hilversum (Beresteinseweg). After the cemetery at P21412, turn left towards ’s Graveland (Corverslaan). Follow this street (past the Gooilust estate) and cross the ’s Gravelandseweg. At the fork, keep left (past the sculpture garden "de Zanderij" and the Wilhelmina tree). At P24591, turn right into Spanderslaan. At P21076, continue straight on the bike path. At the five-way intersection, take the second exit to the right. At P20139, cross the asphalt road (Bussumergrintweg).

3. Route description from Restaurant Robert
From the parking lot, turn right onto the bike path (Bussumergrintweg). At P20139, turn left.

Continue over the wildlife grate and the bike path towards Crailose Bridge. At P70313, turn left onto the bike path towards Natuurbrug. At P70310, turn right over the nature bridge Zanderij Crailo.
At the end of the nature bridge at P70311, turn right towards Laren/Sint Janskerkhof. At P70312, turn right towards Laren/Sint Janskerkhof. At P62436/001, turn left towards Laren/Sint Janskerkhof. At P62436/002, turn left towards Laren/Sint Janskerkhof. At P20008, turn right towards Sint Janskerkhof. Go through the bike tunnel (the geological museum is on the left side).

4. Route description from Restaurant La Place
From the parking lot, go through the bike tunnel (geological museum).

At P29001/005, go straight towards ’t Bluk. The burial mounds are on the right side. At P20005, P20004, P20012, turn right towards Hilversum.

5. Route description from Tea House ’t Bluk
At P20005, head towards Hilversum.

At P20136, go straight, then take the first bike path on the left and across the wildlife grate. At the fork, keep left and follow the bike path (Laarder Wasmeer). At the end of the bike path, cross the road over Anna’s Hoeve and take the left bike path towards Lage Vuursche. At P20631, turn right towards Lage Vuursche (Albert Schweitzerweg). Cross the railway line and continue on the bike path (Provinciepaal) and cross the Hilversumse Straatweg. Go straight towards Lage Vuursche.

6. Route description from Restaurant Groot Kievitsdal
From the parking lot, enter the bike path into the forest towards Lage Vuursche.

At P20039, go straight towards Lage Vuursche/Hollandsche Rading and at P20038, turn right towards Hilversums Wasmeer. At P20894, turn left towards Hilversums Wasmeer, over the wildlife grate and follow the bike path (viewpoint Hilversums Wasmeer). At P20893, turn right towards Hollandsche Rading. At P20014, turn right towards Loosdrecht and cross the bike bridge over the A27. At P20013, cross Utrechtseweg (Eco Bridge Zwaluwenberg) and go straight towards Loosdrecht. At P20436 towards Hilversum, to P20653.

Route description to Hilversum Station. At P20653, go straight, continue following the bike path, cross Eikenlaan, continue on the bike path, cross Diependaalselaan and go straight into Pieter de Hooghlaan. Cross Gijsbrecht van Amstelstraat and continue on Pieter de Hooghlaan. At the T-junction, turn left (Rembrandtlaan) and the first street on the right (Nassaulaan). Go straight at Koningsstraat (continue on Nassaulaan). Cross Emmastraat and turn left onto the bike path towards Vituskerk. At the roundabout, turn right and follow the bike path (Schapenkamp). After 250 meters, Hilversum Station will be on your right side.
