This 45-kilometre-long route takes you largely through the municipality of Maashorst, formerly known as Landerd. In this region, airfields, crashed planes and Operation Market Garden play an important role in the stories and memories of the local population. The area has an eventful history, both at the beginning and at the end of the Second World War. From the Germans who bombarded the casemates in 1940 to the Allies who wanted to move hastily through this area in 1944, with the help of brave inhabitants.

The Liberation Route Brabant tells the story of the liberation, but also shows what the Second World War meant for ordinary people in Brabant. Eight cycling routes, spread across North Brabant, lead you past Brabant Reminders stories, listening columns of the Liberation Route Europe, monuments and museums, which together make the impact of the war on North Brabant visible.
