This 27-kilometre stage takes you over the last part of the route that the liberators followed when they entered Dutch territory. The Liberation Route Brabant not only tells the story of the liberation, but also sheds light on what the Second World War meant for the ordinary population of Brabant. The entire route is 125 kilometers long and divided into five stages. This stage follows the Airborne Walking Trail, which tells the story of Operation Market Garden. During this operation, roads and bridges had to be captured to bypass the Siegfried Line via Arnhem, so that the Allied army could advance towards Berlin.

The route takes you past historical places, marked by courage, sadness, fear and hope. Soldiers, residents, refugees and occupiers saw their lives changed here. Reflect on what happened during the war in North Brabant and in these places in particular.
